01 / My story

A bit about me.

Carson Cook · Edmonton, Alberta

I grew up alpine racing at Snow Valley in Edmonton and went on to race with the Alberta Ski Team. Alpine skiing was a huge part of my life long before I made the move to ski cross.

That alpine background has stayed with me throughout my ski cross career. I’ve spent eight seasons on the Canadian national team, racing around the world and working my way into the top eight on the World Cup circuit.

Before my injury, I was skiing the best I ever had and getting my best results. I finished sixth in Innichen and had several top-eight finishes during the 2023–24 season. Then, at the first World Cup of the following season in Val Thorens, I tore my ACL.

After surgery and months of rehab, I returned to competition last season. Getting back into the start gate was a big step, but it was also about finding that race feeling again. It took time to get back into the rhythm of competing after so long away.

Coming back from injury has reminded me how much I love this sport. I’m motivated to keep improving, build consistency and see what I can achieve in ski cross.

I’m raising funds to help cover training, travel and competition expenses. If you’re able to help, I’d be grateful to have you along for the journey.

$10,200Approximate November–December costs · CAD

My current estimate for these two months is roughly $9,200–$10,200, before meals and some additional travel expenses. I’m raising funds to help cover accommodation, lift access, flights and racing costs. Here’s the broad breakdown.

Sun Peaks training~$2,100

Estimated accommodation and lift access for the planned training camp.

Yukon training~$2,800

Estimated accommodation, lift access and flights for the planned ski cross training block.

European racing trip$4,300–$5,300

Estimated racing-trip costs and flights for the planned December trip.

These are rounded planning estimates for November and December, not a full-season budget. Costs and plans may change, and I’ll update this page as they become clearer. Support through Snow Athletes Canada goes toward eligible sport expenses under its program.

05 / Support

How you can help.

Any amount helps with the cost of this season. If you can’t contribute, sharing this page or putting me in touch with someone who might be interested in sponsoring me would mean a lot too.

I’m motivated to keep improving in ski cross. Representing Canada at the 2030 Olympic Games remains a long-term goal.
